Livingston County, Michigan — On June 12, 2025, while on southbound US-23, the Fenton City PD located a stolen car and initiated a pursuit. Livingston County Deputies started to assist near Clyde Road. The stolen car exited at Highland Road (M59) and continued west. As the car passed Argentine Road, Livingston County Deputies set up spike strips, but the driver avoided. Near this location the car side swiped a vehicle that was stopped in the roadway causing minor damage to both vehicles. The stolen vehicle then turned south onto Hughes Road where it failed to stop at the intersection at Golf Club Road and struck a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado. The impact caused the Chevrolet Silverado to overturn against the guard rail.
Both vehicles were disabled, and the driver of the stolen vehicle was taken into custody without further incident. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was identified as a 66-year-old male Howell resident, who was transported to the U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor by Livingston County EMS as a precautionary measure and reported no significant injuries. The driver of the stolen vehicle, 42-year-old Jeremy Nelson, of Ypsilanti, was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Howell by Livingston County EMS for examination prior to being lodged at the Livingston County Jail. Nelson was arraigned on June 13th, 2025 on charges of fleeing and eluding police and receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle. He remains jailed on a $100,000 cash surety bond along with a Michigan Department of Corrections Parole Detainer.
