St. Ann, Missouri — On February 17, 2024, at approximately 8:00 a.m., the St. Ann Police Department responded to the 4100 block of Parc Chalet for a sick case inside of an apartment. St. Ann Police Department uniformed police officers and EMS personnel responded to the scene. During the call and while inside the apartment, 22=year=old Davion Swinson, emerged from a bedroom while he was armed with a semi-automatic 9mm pistol, equipped with a laser light, and pointed the pistol and laser light at a St. Ann police officer who was in full police uniform and inside of the apartment.

In response to Swinson’s actions, the police officer fired one shot from his department issued firearm, which struck Swinson in the right arm. Swinson was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and after treatment, was transferred to police custody. The St. Ann Police Department requested the North County Police Cooperative to conduct the officer involved shooting investigation. Detectives from the North County Police Cooperative presented the known facts and circumstances of the case to Wesley Bell’s Office, where-in one felony count of Attempt Assault 1st on a Law Enforcement Officer (F) was issued against Swinson. Judge Natalie Warner set Swinson's bond at $500,000 cash only.
