Bodycam Shows Moment Seattle Police Exchange Gunfire With Suspect

Seattle, Washington — On February 12, 2026, at approximately 5:44 p.m., officers with the Seattle Police Department responded to the area of Northwest 62nd Street and 28th Avenue Northwest after an 18-year-old woman told police her ex-boyfriend, 62-year-old Christopher Bowman, was following her and that he was likely carrying a gun. Officers located and contacted Bowman in the area. When police contacted Bowman, he drew a firearm. Gunfire was exchanged between Bowman and Seattle officers. Bowman was struck multiple times during the firearm exchange. Police provided first aid to Bowman at the scene. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition. One Seattle officer sustained a minor injury and was transported to a local hospital, treated, and released.
