Detroit, Michigan — On April 4, 2024, at approximately 7:19 p.m., Detroit police officers were in the area of Fenkell Avenue and Brammel Street, when they observed the 16-year-old carrying a concealed weapon. When officers confronted the minor, he fled from the police on foot. During the foot chase, officers observed the juvenile with the gun in his left hand. The officer fired 2 shots at the juvenile, striking him in the leg. The juvenile was assessed by medics and transported to a local hospital and discharged medical personnel. The handgun was recovered at the scene. The minor has been charged with receiving and concealing a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.
