The US and Iran have agreed on a tentative peace framework for a deal to bring the war to an end, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and halt the US naval blockade of Iran.

US President Donald Trump said the strait would open on Friday and he had ordered the end of the US blockade of Iranian ports, writing on Truth Social: "Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!"
