Fort Worth, Texas — On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at approximately 3:50 a.m., Northwest Division officers responded to a commercial burglar alarm at a restaurant in the 1100 block of Terminal Rd., following reports of an open door. When officers arrived at approximately 3:57 a.m., they walked around the perimeter looking for any signs of intruders or forced entry. While checking the back of the business, officers saw a man holding a gun pointed in their direction. Officers gave verbal commands for him to show them his hands, but he did not drop the gun. One officer stated, fearing for their safety, he fired his duty weapon at the man, however, the man was not struck by the gunfire.
The man then immediately complied with the officer’s commands to drop the gun and was taken into custody. Officers later learned that he was the business owner of the location. The man was subsequently released from custody. During the investigation, detectives learned that the restaurant and storage area in the back of the property were broken into by an unknown suspect. No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made. The Major Case Unit is the lead of the investigation and continues searching for the suspect or suspects who broke into the property. Per department policy, both Fort Worth Police officers were placed on standard Significant Event Leave.
