Israel's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has claimed to have cancelled the 1997 Hebron Agreement.
It's a move that would strip the Palestinian Hebron municipality of its authority over construction projects in the largest city in the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Authority denounced the step and called on the international community to intervene.
Israel's Foreign Ministry issued a statement, denying that the agreement has been cancelled.
