Raed Hamada, a paramedic and university lecturer, has been wounded six times while continuing to provide emergency medical care in Jabalia, northern Gaza. He lost 17 members of his family, including his parents, brothers, wife and daughters, in an Israeli attack. Working from a makeshift medical point established after Kamal Adwan Hospital was put out of service, he and colleagues operate with only basic supplies amid severe shortages. Around 80 percent of the hospital's former medical staff have been killed, wounded or detained.
