A new report by Amnesty International says the Sudanese paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) committed crimes against humanity during its siege and takeover of the city of el-Fasher in North Darfur state.
According to the rights group the RSF carried out mass killings and detentions, and raped and tortured people who tried to flee the city.
The armed group overran the city last October after an 18-month siege.
Al Jazeera’s Hiba Morgan reports from Khartoum, Sudan.
