US Central Command has confirmed additional strikes on Iran following a reported attack on commercial shipping, marking a further escalation in tensions in the Gulf region.

Iranian state media reports multiple explosions in the port city of Sirik in southern Iran, with officials saying projectiles targeted a telecommunications tower. The city lies near the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
