Residents of central Portugal battled flames raging near homes on July 3 as a large wildfire burned near the municipality of Vouzela. Portugal asked the EU, Spain and Morocco to have extra firefighting aircraft ready in case wildfires worsen during the heatwave, Prime Minister Luis Montenegro said.
