A powerful earthquake has devastated parts of Venezuela's Caribbean coast, reducing homes, hotels and businesses to rubble in one of the country's popular tourist destinations.

Rescue teams continue searching collapsed buildings for survivors and victims as the death toll rises. Thousands have been injured, while many more have been displaced after authorities declared numerous buildings unsafe. Beyond the immediate humanitarian crisis, officials face the challenge of rebuilding communities and reviving the local tourism-dependent economy.
