The UK needs to "actively prepare" for war. That was the warning from the government almost a year ago, but we're still waiting for specific guidance on how exactly we should be getting ready.

Some experts think it's time to bring back the Civil Defence Service, a massive civilian volunteer organisation that was shelved in 1968.
