A 30-year-old Sudanese man, named as Hadi Alodid, has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following a knife attack in Belfast that triggered widespread disorder across the city.
Buses, cars and shops were set alight, and makeshift barricades were erected in the streets.
The unrest was partly fuelled by the suspect's refugee visa status, with calls to protest amplified on social media, including a repost by Elon Musk of far-right content.
This is the third consecutive summer of anti-migration protests in Northern Ireland.
