It's going to be the biggest FIFA World Cup ever. 48 teams, in three countries – and it starts in just a few days. A love of sport is supposed to bring people together. But this is a time of division, protest and conflict in the US. It's got trade disputes with the other two hosts. And it's at war with Iran – one of the first countries to qualify. Security is being ramped up even more. Some fans have been banned from travelling to the US for political or health reasons. And players, officials and fans from several countries have had to wait to find out if they would have to pay a fifteen-thousand-dollar bond before travelling. Eventually they've been told it's not needed.
