As the government sets out plans to tighten social media rules for under-16s, Roblox is urging caution over blanket restrictions for children online.

The gaming platform is introducing new safety measures, including limits on stranger-pairing features for younger users - a function ministers announced they want to ban as part of wider online safety reforms.

Sky News science and technology reporter Mickey Carroll spoke to Roblox's chief safety officer, Matt Kaufman, about the company's approach to protecting young people online and whether age-based bans are the right solution.
