After President Donald Trump named Bill Pulte as acting director of national intelligence, former Vice President Mike Pence said he hopes the permanent pick will have extensive national security experience, noting the country faces "an ever more dangerous world.” Pulte — a wealthy businessman turned Federal Housing Finance Agency director — has not previously worked in the US intelligence community.
